Vision, in the mind of many, has come to be an essential part of any ministry. The word itself speaks of a dream or goal that we have for the future. When I think of the word in that way, I am immediately reminded that the church belongs to Jesus, and it is not so much that we need to come up with a goal for His church as we need to realize what His vision actually is.

3 important concepts To help us formulate a proper vision for the church:

1.

And He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.’”

Mark 16:15

The purpose of the church is to communicate locally and to the farthest-reaching parts of the globe the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ. To that end it is our desire at CCVB to proclaim the Gospel weekly at our services and to be involved in local outreaches as well as place a heavy emphasis upon missions.

2.

“‘Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’ Amen

Matthew 28:19-20

Once a person has come to faith in Christ it is our goal to do whatever we can to help them grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Word of God is the primary source of nourishment for the child of God; therefore we emphasize the teaching of the Word at all of our services.

3.

“And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;”

Ephesians 4:11-13

Paul explains that the church was designed to be a training ground for people to be called into ministry. We believed that God wants to use the current generation and the next generation to reach the world with the message of the Gospel. As a result we provide training programs like DTS and Equip to help train those who feel called to ministry.
