Paul encourages the reader in this passage to acknowledge their own sin and salvation, so as not to grow judgmental of or influenced by those who do not know Christ. Instead of being defensive or compromised in our faith, we are to be compassionate and firm-footed, because everyone falls short of God’s glory.
